Privacy and Security Statement

This application enables point of entry management, and allows businesses to digitally log it’s patrons providing date and time queries. Information captured by the QPASS Point of Entry System will be purged after a 14 day period.

What is the Purpose of the QPASS Point of entry app?

To capture patronage information (name, address, date & time stamp) for businesses (public & private), public transportation, and schools.

What steps are we taking to protect your privacy?

We take your privacy seriously. The QPASS Point of Entry System has been discussed with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner and the Chief Privacy Officer, and are taking their advice as we develop the app. An assessment will be conducted by Barbados’s Cyber Security Working Group (CSWG) and a bill of Health issued.

What happens to your information?

QPEM data will be gathered by Business owners and will not be shared with the government unless there is a specific request by Public Service officials. The personal information and contact details you choose to register through QPEM are used by Businesses to notify patrons of changes in business operations and maybe supplied to the Healthcare officials if there is a specific health crisis, in the event that you need to be contacted quickly. Any information recorded through the QPEM digital diary will be stored for 30 days securely on your phone and automatically deleted after 60 days. It is the user’s choice to share their digital diary, entries to the diary can be edited. The contact alerts notification feature can be used, which enables your phone to receive alerts if you have used the QPEM app to scan into a location and that locations has experienced a change in operation.

What if I am under 16 years old?

If you are under 16 years old, you may choose to use the QPEM app. Please note, however, if businesses or government officials need to contact your parents or guardians to provide any necessary information for you.

Will my information be secure?

Your personal information will be held and managed in accordance with the privacy act 1993. If you decide to share your information with public service officials, it will be held to service standards.

How long will my information be kept for?

Information you enter about yourself, including physical address(es), will be stored indefinitely. Information pertaining to your movement (location changes), will be deleted by the app 30 days after that app entry was made. You can uninstall the QPEM app at any time. This will delete any information held on your phone but will not automatically delete the contact information that you uploaded via the QPEM app. If you wish to have this information deleted please email

How do I register and secure my personal information?

To log into the app you must use a valid individual email address, and a strong unique password. You should ensure the password you use for this website/app is not the same password you use for other websites/apps. You must not share an app account with another person. You must not share your password with anyone else. We accept no responsibility if your account is accessed by a third party entering your email address and password correctly. Some time after you have registered, the app may prompt you to log in again. You are still able to scan or add manual Digital Diary entries before logging in again, provided you are the sole user with a Digital Diary on that device and you have not deliberately logged out. You may opt in to enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA), which will require a Time-Based One Time Password to be entered each time you login for additional security. If you enable 2FA and lose access to your code generator, we may not be able to recover your account. If you require assistance, email You will need to be prepared to provide proof of identity. Statistical information

Information collected for statistical purposes will not be linked to the personal information you provide or the profile you create. We may collect statistical information to help us improve the service, and understand how it is being used. This information is aggregated and doesn't identify you personally.
